FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between UV and fiber laser marking? +
Fiber lasers (1064nm) are best for metals and most plastics, offering high speed and deep engraving. UV lasers (355nm) use "cold marking" with virtually no heat-affected zone, making them ideal for heat-sensitive materials like glass, electronics, medical devices and fine plastics. UV is more expensive but produces finer, higher-contrast marks on difficult materials.
Why does UV laser need a water chiller? +
UV laser sources are sensitive to temperature fluctuations. A water chiller maintains a stable operating temperature (typically 18-25°C), ensuring consistent laser output power, beam quality and extending the laser source lifespan. All our UV machines include an industrial water chiller (CWUV-05 or higher).
Can UV laser mark on glass without cracking? +
Yes. UV laser's cold marking process produces minimal heat, significantly reducing the risk of glass cracking. With proper parameter settings (low power, multiple passes), UV lasers can produce clear, permanent marks on glass bottles, containers, watch crystals and laboratory glassware without thermal damage.
What UV power do I need for my application? +
3W: Basic marking on plastics, packaging, and shallow glass marks. 5W (most popular): General electronics, medical devices, cosmetics packaging. 10W: High-volume production, deeper marks, faster speed. 15W: Industrial high-speed lines, thick materials, deep engraving. Send us your samples for a free test to determine the optimal power.
Do you provide training and installation support? +
Yes. Every UV laser machine comes with: detailed user manual, operation video tutorials, free remote training via TeamViewer, and 24/7 technical support. For bulk orders, we can arrange on-site installation and training at your facility (travel cost applies). Most customers are fully operational within 1-2 days of receiving the machine.
